The day pushes down as I try to stay on top of the rainbow, ride the light until the day ends curled up with a cozy blanket and a good book.

Sitting amongst the birch trees,
I listen to the day fade in and out, as I put markings down on the page, coax an image that is enough for me to recognize this moment, eager to continue marking the days–marking the pages with, not only words, but real images.

Trying to stay in the calm
amidst the chaos; one final hurdle, deadline looms, short-staffed, technical issues, transition a rocky road, like a large  conglomerate  rock thrown together clumsily, rough.

Outside, a little sparrow flits to a nearby tree, sun on my face. I slow my walk, I feel anxiety, acknowledge it and breathe in deeply as I walk to lunch–
a much needed break in the day.
